Adopt-a-Hive Program

Want to get involved but not interested in keeping bees? Learn about how to sponsor an UNL hive for your own personal interest or on behalf of your organization. Sponsored hives are housed at the UNL East Campus Pollinator garden and cared for by the Bee Lab Team. Hive sponsors receive photos throughout the season and summary updates on how the colony is progressing. At the end of the season, sponsors receive honey from these hives!

UNL Bee Lab student compete in a fun hive decorating contest for Halloween. Adopted “sponsored” hives will participate in fun engagement activities such as this throughout the season. (2024 winner: Minecraft bee on flower, submitted by Shelby Kittle)
