Join the UNL Bee Lab extension team for the Big Bug Bonanza Spring Break Camp! Through hands-on activities and investigations, crafts, and games, campers will explore the world of bugs! Campers will dive into the diversity of insects, animal adaptations and habitats, and ecological roles. Campers will explore pollination and indicator organisms and discover how we can help these important critters. With opportunities to examine pinned and live insects, campers will get to bug-out on bugs!

Camp will be open to students currently enrolled in 3rd through 5th grade. Camp will occur March 9th-13th 2026, during LPS's Spring Break. Camp registration is $300. Each camp day from 9-4 pm, campers will explore live and preserved insects, engage in hands-on investigations, and discover the wonders of the natural world through guided activities, games, and crafts.

Each day of the week, campers will focus on a new buggy topic.

Day 1: Buggy Basics What makes an insect an insect?

Day 2: Arthropod Adaptations How bugs are built to survive

Day 3: Wildlife Warriors Helping insects through habitat conservation

Day 4: Pollinator Party Why bees and butterflies matter

Day 5: Habitat Heroes How arthropods help keep our environment healthy
